Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse Closed to Public

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden are committed to providing a place of hope and hospitality for our dear neighbors, as well as a safe and healthy environment for our Sisters and staff. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic and to help mitigate the spread of this virus, we will continue to restrict visitors to the Motherhouse and suspend public programs and events on our campus.
 
As we move through this pandemic, we will continue to follow guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and state health and government officials. As we plan for reopening, we will also consider what is in the best interest of our vulnerable elderly Sisters.
 
We feel blessed that, at this time, no case of the virus has been confirmed in the Motherhouse and that our essential workers – health care, housekeeping, maintenance and foodservice staff – are working painstakingly to help keep our Sisters and staff safe and healthy.
 
Even though our house is closed now, our hearts remain open to remembering and praying for each and every one of you. We miss you dearly, and are grateful for your prayers, understanding and patience.

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden are committed to providing a place of hope and hospitality for our dear neighbors, as well as a safe and healthy environment for our sisters and staff.

In light of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic and in accordance with Centers for Disease Control guidelines, the Sisters of St. Joseph are taking the following steps to help prevent the spread of this virus.

Beginning immediately:

  • All public events and programs at the Motherhouse are suspended. This includes: St. Joseph Spirituality Center events and retreats, Baden Earth Day, and volunteer work days. Refunds will be issued for paid programs and reschedule dates will be announced as decisions are made. The Auxiliary’s Spring Luncheon is also suspended.
  • Access to and from the Motherhouse is restricted. All visitors will be restricted from entering the Motherhouse, which is home to many of our sisters. Mass will be closed to the public. 

These temporary measures will be in place through June 1, 2020. We will re-evaluate the situation at that time and keep the public informed of any changes. In the meantime, we ask for your prayers for those locally and internationally who are suffering in this time of great uncertainty.
