The Sisters of St. Joseph received the 2019 Partner in Caring award from Concordia at Villa St. Joseph during the Young at Heart event on February 22 at the Motherhouse.
About a dozen Sisters, including Sisters Sharon Costello, Mary Parks and Jean Uzupis of the Leadership Team attended the event. The evening featured the awards presentation, dinner and entertainment from the Rich Zabinski Trio, as well as performances from residents who participate in the music therapy program. This past spring, the Sisters of St. Joseph sold the Villa to Concordia Lutheran Ministries, which continues to build on the music therapy program.
Accepting the Partner in Caring award on behalf of the Congregation, Sister Sharon said, “As Sisters of St. Joseph, we know all too well that over our 369-year-old lifetime, times change and often, the needs of the times – and of our neighbors – change. As we live into our new relationship, we are deeply grateful that Concordia at Villa St. Joseph continues to welcome the presence of our Sisters as volunteers, as residents and as a chaplain. We are especially grateful that we share a common goal of service – all for the greater glory of God.”
